Click on Christian Broadcasting Network to hear Steve and Mary Newport interviewed about the benefits of coconut oil. I do believe coconut oil has helped my husband and have written about how I use it previously.
Currently it is used as Coconut Fudge, half coconut oil and half chocolate chips, both melted together and frozen in ice cube trays and stored the the refrigerator; then my husband is given four cubes a day. He got tired of having coconut oil in oatmeal.
I've watched the video a number of times, it's very impressive. It would be so wonderful if something as simple as coconut oil could treat dementia.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hoping you all are doing well!
Hugs and prayers,
What brand of coconut oil do you use?
ReplyDeleteI use Tropical Traditions (link at the right) and have an order in now for a large container that will last a while. When I run out temporarily of my large Tropical Traditions order, I get extra virgin oil from Walmart or from a health food store until my Tropical Traditions order comes in the mail. Making those ice cube trays of cocnut fudge (1/2 chocolate chips and 1/2 coconut oil combined and frozen together) seems to work out the best for my husband. After they are frozen, I keep them in the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad cannot eat chocolate. What other suggestions could you give for making something as nice as this coconut fudge?
ReplyDeleteLismon,
ReplyDeleteTry to get Dr. Newport's book. She has recipes there. At first I put coconut oil in my husband's oatmeal. He is tired of oatmeal for breakfast now. I put coconut oil on sandwiches before mayo. I put coconut oil in casseroles, a little in mashed potatoes. I sauté with coconut oil and olive oil. You have to build up to how much coconut oil you take, or you will get diarrhea. You cannot heat coconut oil over 35O F, but you can cook a cake at 325 often.
