Picture of Redman Room 312 Added Later |
Last night when we were going to bed hubby called me. His knee was out. He was sitting on a chest right by the hamper and I expect that he had just taken his socks off and twisted his knee. That right knee looked out of shape. He has had a problem with it before.
Somehow we got him into bed and he slept well, but this morning, although the knee looked better, he could not walk on it and would not get out of bed. Kenny came over early and got him into the chair by his bed. At noon Kenny came back. About four hours later Kenny and another neighbor got him into the car so I could take him to Plant City Baptist Hospital again--almost like a repeat performance.
Since he hadn't fallen this time, there would be fewer tests. Dr. B. on call in the ER examined the knee, heard the history and said he may have a meniscus injury. An MRI would pick this up, but they don't do this in Emergency. They are checking him out for a UTI.
Will update in comments below..

ReplyDeleteNot a UTI. Has been to X-ray. Waiting for doctor to release him.
He doesn't remember that he hasn't walked all day.
Not being released. He cannot walk. MRI on knee tomorrow in hospital.
ReplyDeleteHe asked if this is his permanent home. I said, no, and that he is coming home. He is sad. I usually never see him sad.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!!!! I hope the morning starts off well and he can go home.

Thanks, Dolores. It means so much to have your prayers and understanding.
DeleteUp at 4 am to make coconut fudge to bring to the hospital. Nurse Cindy says he is doing well when I called her. The water goes out here. Nada. No water. But I did get the coconut fudge put into the freezer before the water went out.
ReplyDeleteHubby is doing well and happy at the hospital. He had a good night's sleep. He has been switched to the Exelon patch, much better than the pill which had bad side effects.
ReplyDeleteHe is in a looked down section for patients such as Alzheimer's patients. So far he is the best Alzheimer's patient they have seen. The doctor I saw this morning knew about coconut oil. Today's nurse knows about Tumeric for Alzheimer's care receivers and was very interested in his coconut oil.
* locked down, not looked down
Delete** spelling is turmeric
Good news. Thanks for your prayers. Hubby is going home with a torn ligament in his right knee and physical therapy. He will have a wheel chair, use a walker in the house and have a knee brace. Water was restored at the house with a new switch by the pump. We are both very happy.
ReplyDeleteI have been so humbled by this experience and will write about it later.
By the way, this is not an Alzheimer's unit, but is locked down for other reasons I guess, including having children here.
Still praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Still waiting in hospital, but hubby is all dressed and raring to go see his dog.
ReplyDeleteHome with physical therapy starting Tuesday. My main computer has a virus and so I am not able to post pictures.
